"!" is the sound of silence.  It is a very loud silence… a deafening roar to those who listen closely.  It is the sound of art and expression and thoughts clamoring to be set free from oblivion.  It is the sound of choices dying.  It is the sound of freedom lost.  It is the sound of the mainstream crushing those that deviate.  Whenever you see that symbol… listen closely and contemplate the potential that never was.  

I am fearful when I see “!” because it means that if those artists don't have freedom of expression on DeviantART then neither do I.
